Months after working on direct state access support in Mesa, Fredrik Höglund of KDE has finished off this OpenGL 4.5 feature for core Mesa.

The now-supported GL_ARB_direct_state_access extension allows for directly modifying an object without binding it first as traditionally required. DSA was one of the big OpenGL 4.5 features for being able to set and query properties of objects without needing to bind them, which is a significant feature for game/application developers and has become a sought after extension. ARB_direct_state_access is documented at length via the OpenGL.org registry.

With today's Mesa Git, this OpenGL 4.5 feature is now marked as DONE. The core Mesa support for exposing the direct state access feature came over the course of many commits sent in today and will be included as part of the Mesa 10.6 release due out soon.
