Many OpenGL ES 3.1 Commits Land In Mesa
While OpenGL 4.0+ support continues to be tackled for Mesa, finishing up OpenGL ES 3.1 support within Mesa seems to be a pressing priority for Intel.
Intel's Ian Romanick landed a number of changes today concerning GLES 3.1 support, albeit it's not yet complete. Romanick made a number of GLSL ES 3.10 improvements today while also updating the OpenGL 3/4 support documentation.
GL_ARB_shader_image_size support is in progress while multi-sample textures and GL_ARB_texture_storage_multisample are done. Still to be completed for OpenGL ES 3.1 compatibility is GL_ARB_arrays_of_arrays, GL_ARB_compute_shader, GL_ARB_framebuffer_no_attachments,GL_ARB_shader_image_load_storage, GL_ARB_shader_image_size, and GL_ARB_shader_storage_buffer_object.
Hopefully in 2015 we'll see OpenGL ES 3.1 support in Mesa crossed off the list and it seems for Sky Lake that having GLES 3.1 compliance on Linux is important to Intel.
