The State Of OpenCL Computing Language (2016)

Neil Trevett, President of The Khronos Group, presented at the International Workshop on OpenCL (IWOCL) last month in Vienna about the state of the union for OpenCL.

Trevett's presentation covered the provisional OpenCL 2.2 specification that launched at IOWCL, the OpenCL C++ kernel language, SPIR-V 1.1 as the new intermediate representation with full OpenCL C++ support, support for LLVM, the state of various OpenCL driver implementations, Vulkan, and more.

There wasn't anything really groundbreaking shared during this status update unless you haven't been looking at OpenCL and the other Khronos APIs in some time, but if you're interested in the presentation anyways, you can find the PDF slides.
