VisionTek 240GB SATA 3.0 SSD Benchmarks On Linux
This week was my first time trying a VisionTek branded solid-state drive. Here are some benchmark results of the VisionTek 240GB TLC 7mm SATA III SSD.
In having some e-gift cards to make use of, I picked up a few SSDs I hadn't previously tested, including the VisionTek 900878. It's one of the less interesting SATA 3.0 SSDs while in the next few days will have some tests of some more interesting NVMe SSD models.
This VisionTek model is a rather basic SATA 3.0 TLC-based solid-state drive.
But for those curious to see how the VisionTek 240GB SSD (900878) compares to some other SATA 3.0 SSDs and an Intel 600p NVMe SSD, there are these benchmarks for your viewing pleasure today.
The VisionTek 240GB SSD can be found from popular Internet retailers for about $80 USD. The performance isn't anything amazing, but these are the data points for those interested.

The other main point of this article is for allowing you to compare your own Linux HDD/SSD performance to the various drives in this comparison. Simply install the Phoronix Test Suite and then run phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1612136-TA-SSDDISKTE15 to conduct your own, fully-automated, side-by-side performance comparison to the reproducible Linux disk tests in this article.
