Wayland 1.11 & Weston 1.11 Up To Release Candidate State

Bryce Harrington announced the release today of the release candidates for Wayland 1.11 and the reference Weston 1.11 compositor.

The official 1.11 release candidate announcements can be found via the Wayland-devel mailing list.

Major features of Wayland 1.11 include support for proxy wrappers, improvements to the SHM shared memory code, enum improvements, and documentation enhancements.

Changes meanwhile for Weston 1.11 include work around libweston and changing how backends are initialized, IVI shell improvements, build system improvements, many client fixes, numerous bug fixes, and other changes.

The official Wayland/Weston 1.11 release is planned currently for around 31 May.
