WeTek Hub & WeTek Play Steaming/Media Devices To Be Supported By Linux 4.11
Submitted earlier in the Linux 4.11 merge window were the big ARM SoC and platform changes for this next kernel version while some last-minute ARM changes have just arrived.
Arnd Bergmann sent in some last-minute ARM SoC updates for the Linux 4.11 kernel. These late changes include USB 3.0 support for Samsung's Exynos 7, some Samsung power management updates, WeTek set-top box support, and some fixes.
The WeTek devices now being supported in Linux 4.11 is the company's Hub and Play devices.
The WeTek Hub isa compact Android Streaming Device that runs Android by default.
The WeTek Play 2 is an Android Media Center device that comes with Kodi pre-installed and has IPTV/DVB modular tuner support.
These WeTek Hub and Play 2 devices use Amlogic SoCs and with the Linux 4.11 kernel will be supported by the mainline tree. These appear to be the first WeTek ARM devices supported by the mainline Linux kernel.
