Wine 2.2 Arrives, Still Prepping For The Direct3D Command Stream
Wine 2.2 is now available as the latest bi-weekly development release of Wine for running Windows programs on Linux and other operating systems.
With Wine 2.2 there is continued work on the Direct3D Command Stream (CSMT) support, but it's not fully in place for gamers looking toward better performance. Hopefully though it will land by next year's Wine 3.0 release.
Wine 2.2 also now sets the Windows version to Windows 7 for new prefixes, implements more Shader Model 5 (SM5) instructions, there is initial support for double-buffered theme painting, and a total of 35 known bug fixes.
