Wine-Staging 2.1 Reworks CSMT For D3D10/D3D11
Riding off last week's Wine 2.1 release as the first post-2.0 bi-weekly development snapshot, Wine-Staging 2.1 has been released that continues to incorporate all of its various experimental/testing patches.
Wine-Staging 2.1 on top of its many patches that it continues to carry has expanded its Command Stream Multi-Threading (CSMT) support. Wine-Staging's CSMT support now includes support for Direct3D 10/11, rather than just D3D9. Hopefully we'll see CSMT support merge to mainline Wine ahead of next year's Wine 3.0 release. Though the D3D10/D3D11 workloads that do run on Wine might not notice much greater performance yet as first the developers were focusing upon correctness over performance.
Wine-Staging 2.1 also has support for some processor group functions and other smaller improvements.
