The xf86-video-nouveau DDX driver has dropped support for GLAMOR hardware acceleration and in the process eliminated the support for the Maxwell GPUs.

This commit to the Nouveau X.Org driver today explains, "If you want glamor, just use modesetting instead. It's hooked up incorrectly in nouveau, and there doesn't seem to be any point in fixing it when the modesetting driver does it all properly."

So users with the latest NVIDIA GPUs on Nouveau will just want to make use of the in-server xf86-video-modesetting driver.

There was also this commit to remove the Maxwell support since without GLAMOR support the Nouveau DDX is useless. In the future the Maxwell support could be re-introduced if/when there is EXA support for Maxwell on this open-source NVIDIA driver.
