X.Org Xephyr Improvements Still Baking For Single-GPU Multi-Seat
Laércio de Sousa has published the seventh revision of patches to X.Org's KDrive and Xephyr for finishing up support for having full single-GPU, multi-seat capabilities in Xephyr.
While Laércio would like to see more done to the xf86-video-nested DDX as well as KMS node splitting coming to fruition for better multi-seat handling, he's been working on improving the Xephyr input hot-plugging support and other items for having good X.Org multi-seat capabilities while running off one X.Org Server (by using a nested server for each display output).
About the V7 patches, "This is the v7 of patch series which provides some missing parts for full single-GPU multi-seat support in Xephyr. The main difference to v6 is that now ephyr input driver for kdrive won't be loaded in multi-seat mode, i.e. if -seat option is passed to Xephyr, so that it'll handle only its seat's input hardware. In this version, we've also dropped patch to add command-line options -host-display and -host-auth for Xephyr (use "env DISPLAY=... XAUTHORITY=... Xephyr" instead)."
More details via the X.Org ML patch series.
