Xfce 4.18 Desktop Nears Release, New Development Release For Testing

The lightweight Xfce 4.18 desktop is planning to release in two weeks while out now is the Xfce 4.18 Pre2 development milestone.

Xfce 4.18 Pre2 is now available for testing with more bug fixes and polishing having landed for this GTK-based desktop environment. The developers hope to release Xfce 4.18 officially on 15 December.

Xfce 4.18 is bringing many improvements to its control center / settings area, the Thunar file manager continues receiving many improvements like a new bookmark menu and a new "Recent" area, continued work toward Wayland support, and various updates to the other Xfce apps. Xfce 4.18 is rather an incremental update to this lightweight Linux desktop.
