Threaded Input Finally Lands In The X.Org Server
The X.Org Server Git code finally has the threaded input support that's long been a work-in-progress.
Keith Packard today pushed the threaded input code he's been handling on and off for a while now, which is originally based on work from Tiago Vignatti back during the glory days of Nokia.
Earlier this month I provided more perspective on the X.Org threaded input code and its revision of patches over the past six years. There is threaded input for KDrive and the XFree86 driver code. The threading implementation for moving the input event work off to its own thread relies upon pthreads.
This threaded input support will be present in X.Org Server 1.19, whenever that ends up getting released, which should be sometime this year.
