BIOS:

Like with other ASRock motherboards, they have chosen to utilize the AMI v02.58 BIOS template. During testing, we used ASRock's v1.00 BIOS for the 775Dual-880Pro. Similar to other motherboards that utilize the American Megatrends BIOS template, the available pages were main, advanced, H/W monitor, boot, security, and exit. Although the available options are pretty much standard, there are a few ASRock changes worth pointing out. The first of which BIOS items we'll be talking about takes place from the CPU configuration in the advanced menu. When manually specifying the CPU frequency, the available options are from 90 to 300MHz. From this configuration menu, the CPU Thermal Throttling can also be adjusted. The next item of interest, which also relates to the overclocking, takes place in the Chipset settings panel, also from the advanced menu. In addition to all of the memory timings adjustments, the DDR and AGP voltages can be altered. As with all ASRock motherboards we've tested, the CPU voltage can't be tampered with. ASRock, however, continues to offer its Hybrid Booster, U-COP, and BFG (Boot Failure Guard) to help in the times of overclocking. What is interesting to point out is that although the DDR and AGP voltages can be changed, the available options are quite shocking; no pun intended. Rather than specifying the increase/decrease in Volts, against that of their theoretical values, or simply stating the total voltages going to the component, ASRock has taken the approach of simply listing the voltage options as Low, Normal, or High. From the hardware health event-monitoring page, the CPU temperature is displayed in both Celsius and Fahrenheit along with the motherboard temperature. The two onboard fans for the CPU and chassis also display their rotation speed. Finally, the voltages for the Vcore, +3.30, +5.00, and +12.00V are displayed.
