Examination:

Grasping the Seagate 5GB Pocket Hard Drive, this circular shaped device was a bit smaller than the size of a chewing tobacco container and the exterior of this Seagate device was composed entirely out of plastic. Certainly, the device is small enough, and light enough, to fit inside of nearly any pocket whether it is pants, coat, or briefcase. At first we were a bit concerned regarding the longevity of the device if it is routinely being transported, however, after using the device extensively we were fairly satisfied with the quality of the plastic exterior; of course the popular alternatives are using a lightweight aluminum or rubber. Nestled out of plain view is the USB cord for the Seagate 5GB drive, which can be accessed by rotating the side of the container. Once the cord has been retracted, it measures up to approximately 6 inches. In the center of the device is a blue light for indicating drive activity. On the bottom of the device, it is noted the drive is of 5.0GB capacity (unformatted), was made in Singapore, and displays the serial, part, and model numbers. The Federal Communications Commission and Underwriters Laboratories also recognize the Seagate product. The 5V DC from the USB 2.0 port powers the Seagate 5.0 GB hard drive. Other features to this drive include a 3600RPM spin rate and 2MB of cache.
