Examination:

Like the OCZ Rally and many other flash drives presently available, the appearance of these flash devices is relatively simple. In the event of the OCZ Mini-Kart, however, its size is the competetive factor. The only markings on the drive are the OCZ and Mini-Kart logo and the storage capacity. Like the OCZ Rally, the exterior is black and is composed of a durable surface, but unlike the Corsair Flash Voyager, the unit is not waterproof. At the rear of the OCZ Mini-Kart is a blue LED for indicating drive activity. The opposite side of the Mini-Kart is feature-less.

The dimensions for the Mini-Kart are 43 x 19 x 2.8 mm. To reduce the height of the unit, a metal housing does not surround its USB interface. The weight and dimensions for the Mini-Kart are OCZ's distinct features -- hence its name. One of the benefits from its size is that it does not require unplugging surrounding USB devices to make room for the device itself -- unlike some previous USB flash drives that were incredibly large and would obstruct confined USB ports. This product is backed by OCZ's 3-year warranty.

Some of our initial concerns were with the durability of the drive considering its size and the exposed contact points; however, in our tests the drive was quite reliable, and offered no signs of damage.
