With computer systems that offer multiple GPUs and CPU cores becoming increasingly popular, the need for a reliable power supply is becoming apparent even for those who may have tried to get by in the past with cheap and low-wattage units. While Seasonic is not mentioned nearly as often as PC Power & Cooling, SilverStone, and Antec when it comes to high quality power supplies, this company has been manufacturing PC power supplies since 1975. When we had looked at their S12 300W power supply back in April of 2005 we were impressed by their offering, but today we have yet another new model from the folks over at Seasonic. The Seasonic M12 series uses a modular cable design, quad +12V rails, active PFC, and dual ball bearing fans.

Features:

· Double Forward Converter Design
· Multiple +12V Outputs
· Super High Efficiency
· Active Power Factor Correction
· Detachable Modular Cables
· All in One DC Cabling Design
· Universal Video Card Support
· Patented Easy Swap Connector
· Universal AC Input
· Super Quiet Dual Fan Cooling

The Seasonic M12 series has 500W, 600W, and 700W models; the model we have our hands on today is the M12-700W unit. The 700W model offers support for four PCI Express power connectors while the rest uses two. The Seasonic M12 is packaged in a sleek cardboard container that lists various information on all sides. Inside the power supply is wrapped in bubble wrap. The contents included the 700W PSU itself, US power cable, the DC modular cables, and user pamphlets. Overall everything came well packaged. Seasonic also offers a three-year warranty on their PC power supplies.
