Corsair Flash PadLock 2GB

After we had tested this flash drive, we decided to take this unit apart to see what really makes up this secure USB flash drive. Dissecting the Corsair Flash PadLock was relatively easy. While we don't endorse breaking open the PadLock as it will likely destroy the product, after breaking the top frame on the flash drive it was fairly easy to remove the two PCBs that make up the inner workings of this drive. One of the PCBs contains the security module while the other PCB is what you would find inside any other "normal" flash drive. Hynix with a part number of HY27UU088G5M manufactures the NAND flash memory used. A +3V battery allows the Flash PadLock keypad to operate when not connected to a USB port. Four solder points connect the two PCBs.
