Aside from these eight mentioned areas of improvement in GNOME 2.22, there are also a number of other changes. The other modules new to GNOME in the 2.22 release are Anjuta, ndesk-dbus, and GVFS. Anjuta is an integrated development environment (IDE) for C and C++ programming languages that integrates well into GNOME and is backed by good documentation. GVFS is the new GNOME virtual file-system. Some of the other areas to pickup new features in GNOME 2.22 are the GNOME Control Center with new capplets for localization and input devices, various changes to GNOME Games, and Metacity has a new compisitor.

Following the release of GNOME 2.22.0 Beta 1 tomorrow, the second beta is due out on February 13 and the GNOME 2.22 Release Candidate on February 27. The final release of GNOME 2.22.0 will occur on March 12. After that, the development excitement heats up for GNOME 2.24, which can be expected in September of 2008.
