JFS was indeed running too fast still, this time in Dbench, due to it delaying writes to its journal. The next fastest file-system was F2FS.

Ignoring the JFS result, EXT2 and ReiserFS were fast while among the modern file-systems the best performer was F2FS in the linear write test and XFS with random writes.
