AMD Ryzen 7 5800X vs. Ryzen 7 5800X3D On Linux 6.0 Benchmarks
Across a wide range of technical computing workloads, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D continues showing much uplift over the Ryzen 7 5800X.
For some video encoding/decoding workloads, the 3D V-Cache is also very much worthwhile with the 5800X3D.
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D throughout all of these different benchmarks was looking very good for power efficiency with no major differences against the 5800X.
In fact, for some workloads the 5800X3D was a few Watts less than the 5800X while delivering the better performance -- presumably due to the slightly lower clock speeds with the X3D model.
I stressed both CPUs with over 400 different benchmarks on Linux and the Ryzen 7 5800X3D continued to prove to be a very great first consumer CPU with 3D V-Cache.
