Tesseract is currently one of the most demanding open-source games / tech demos. With the current RadeonSI performance level on this APU with Radeon R7 Graphics, the frame-rate was about playback at 1080p while Catalyst was about 33% faster.

This Linux Catalyst driver revision was locking up on Unigine Sanctuary while the open-source driver at least worked fine.

While Tropics isn't too technically different from Sanctuary, the Catalyst Linux driver worked for this older OpenGL tech demo and was about 46% faster than the open-source driver code on the AMD A10-7870K.

With the much more demanding Unigine Valley benchmark, at 1080p the A10-7870K isn't able to run at anything close to a sufficient speed. While the performance was poor under both drivers, Catalyst was 55% faster.
