The Himeno pressure solver was running 25% faster with RHEL8.0 compared to RHEL7.6.
Compiling code tends to be slower on RHEL 8.0 as with the newer compiler comes more optimization passes that take longer time to run albeit generally yielding faster compiled code.
In some simple cases, RHEL 7.6 still performs well.
