A variety of tests were run, but there was not any measurable difference in the Linux tests conducted. Simply comparing the Linux 3.0 to Linux 3.1 kernel also did not yield any interesting results. However, depending upon your system configuration and software, your results may vary. More of these AMD FX-8150 eight-core Linux benchmarks can be found on OpenBenchmarking.org. Besides kernel patches, there's also work by AMD on enhancing the performance of CPUs on the Builldozer architecture via compiler optimizations.
