Counter-Strike: Source was under video memory pressure at 1920 x 1080 when having 256MB of memory allocated while it did a bit better with 512MB but the frame-rate was rather variable. With 1024MB and 2048MB there wasn't much difference since this Source Engine game doesn't utilize that much video memory.

Similar to Counter-Strike: Source, the Half-Life 2: Lost Coast and Portal gaming performance was reduced when just having available 256MB of video memory but beyond that it didn't make much of a difference.

While based upon older technology than the Source Engine, the Reaction Quake 3 game comes under great memory pressure with just 256MB of vRAM available. With 512MB of video memory and greater, the frame-rate had nearly tripled.
