With the simple test of unpacking a Linux kernel source package, there was barely any variation between the tested Linux distributions. But TrueOS (FreeBSD 12.0 rolling), FreeBSD 11.0, and DragonFlyBSD 4.8 were all slower than the five Linux distributions.

With the computational FFTW test, however, DragonFlyBSD 4.8 nailed a first place finish slightly ahead of the Linux distributions while the FreeBSD-based platforms were in last place.
