Examination:

The ASRock X99 Extreme3 is sufficiently laid out and really should be no major concerns or snafus when building a system around it.

There's plenty of SATA ports, one Ultra M.2 connection, three PCI Express x16 slots (two PCI-E 3.0, one PCI-E 2.0) with sufficient clearance between them for large graphics cards, plenty of room around the LGA-2011v3 socket, etc.

For those concerned about the aesthetics, the motherboard looks nice with its black and blue finish.

Rear panel I/O ports include PS/2 keyboard and mouse, S/PDIF output, analog audio, four USB 2.0 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and a convenient clear CMOS switch.

UEFI:

The ASRock UEFI on the X99 Extreme3 is similar to other newer ASRock motherboards. The UI is slick and offers all of the necessary options plus plenty of tweaking options for those wishing to overclock their systems. As usual for most newer motherboards, Secure Boot can be easily disabled.
