ATP EarthDrive: A USB Flash Drive Made Of Corn

The ATP EarthDrive is quite small and about the size of the OCZ Ultra-Slim Mini-Kart that we reviewed back in 2006. The USB connector for the drive does recess back into the unit via a sliding mechanism. There is also a blue LED on the EarthDrive for indicating USB connectivity and data transfers. While the unit is made mostly of this PLA material, it does feel reasonably strong and should be able to withstand normal wear and tear.

The ATP ToughDrive Camo is not very different from their earlier ToughDrive or some of the other rugged USB flash drives from other brands such as the OCZ ATV Turbo. The durability of these flash drives are usually good and normally on par with the Corsair Flash Voyager series, but not as durable as say the Corsair Flash Survivor. There is a blue LED indicator on the side of the unit for indicating connectivity and data transfers. One issue we have with the OCZ ToughDrive Camo is that its cap isn't very tight on the head of the USB connector, which we believe could come loose.
