Basemark GPU 1.2 Brings Linux Support - Wins For NVIDIA, Woes For Mesa
It was quite interesting to see the improvements in the NVIDIA GeForce Linux performance at least from switching from OpenGL to Vulkan. At 1080p with OpenGL the performance appears CPU bound with all of the newer NVIDIA cards running at around ~170 FPS but when switching over to Vulkan at 1080p it meant running at 203 to 333 FPS.
At 1440p with Vulkan it also meant the top-end NVIDIA cards going from around 175 FPS to 240 FPS.
Meanwhile at 4K, the Vulkan and OpenGL performance for Basemark GPU 1.2 was much tighter.
That's how the performance of Basemark GPU 1.2 is looking right now. More benchmarks once the Mesa drivers are in better order.
