NVIDIA vs. AMD Linux GPU Performance For THRONES OF BRITANNIA
For 4K gamers, at low quality settings the RX 580 and GTX 1060 were hovering around 60 FPS while the RX Vega 64 and GTX 1070 were up around 82~87 FPS while the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti could run with ease at above 130 FPS.
At 4K with medium quality settings, the GTX 1070 and RX Vega 64 hit around the 60 FPS mark.
At 4K with high quality settings, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti was the only card delivering capable performance.
The Radeon graphics card performance is working out for this game with the Mesa RADV driver. The Radeon RX 580 performance largely came in line with the GeForce GTX 1060 as it should, but the RX Vega performance with RADV shows there still is need for optimization with it generally just hitting around the GeForce GTX 1070 performance levels.
For those with older graphics cards or looking to see more performance numbers for this game, a larger comparison with per-frame-time data and more will be out on Phoronix in the days ahead.
