Across all of the usual heavy HPC benchmarks, the AMD EPYC lead widened compared to the current Xeon Platinum 8280 performance.

When looking at important single-threaded tests like the Numpy benchmark, the uplift from Milan was enough to put it ahead of the current Intel Xeon processors where as with Rome they tended to be either tied or slightly behind Cascade Lake.

The AMD EPYC 7003 series performed incredibly well for the OpenFOAM computational fluid dynamics benchmarks.
