EXT4 LUKS dm-crypt, eCryptfs, Fscrypt Encryption Benchmarks For A USB 3.0 HDD

If you happen to be running an application making use of an embedded SQLite database off a USB 3.0 HDD... The fscrypt and eCryptfs benchmark results were within the margin of error to the stock EXT4 results without encryption. But worth noting here is the much slower LUKS dm-crypt encryption performance.

With the FIO benchmarks, they didn't run while eCryptfs was in use, similar to past tests. With the random write performance, fscrypt was delivering faster I/O performance than the EXT4 LUKS encryption.

With sequential writes, Fscrypt was again much faster than LUKS dm-crypt in its default AES configuration.
