The CompileBench benchmark ended up being noticeably slower still when using the latest Clang compiler rather than GCC.

And slightly slower with HMMer.

While Clang 6.0 SVN did outperform GCC 8.0 with BLAKE2 crypto performance.

Clang also was faster with Fhourstones.

The SciMark2 performance between Clang and GCC was competitive but Clang did have a tough time with the Monte Carlo and Jacobi Successive Over-Relaxation benchmarks.
