AMDGPU-PRO vs. RadeonSI/RADV & NVIDIA's Linux Drivers To End 2016
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is another one of the Linux games where RadeonSI needs some significant work to offer much better performance.
With Counter-Strike: Global Offensive when carrying out the tests last week there was a bug causing the game not to finish loading, but that's since been corrected in Mesa Git after our open driver tests had already wrapped up. When it comes to AMDGPU-PRO vs. NVIDIA with CS:GO, the green side remains much faster.
Well, those are the results for our last big Linux graphics card comparison of 2016. There still are some games like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and BioShock Infinite where AMDGPU-PRO is faster than the fully-open Gallium3D driver stack, but in other games that have had time to mature with the open code it's performing the same or even better than this hybrid driver AMD is catering towards workstation customers. With the Vulkan benchmarks, RADV with Mesa 13.1-dev is performing very well and at least for Dota 2 delivers around the same level of performance.
