A Look At The Intel UHD Graphics Performance On Clear Linux With Linux 4.16 + Mesa 18.2

The ET: Legacy game is playable on the Coffeelake UHD Graphics and with Clear Linux managed to squeeze out a few extra frames than when running on Ubuntu, even with the same upgraded Linux 4.16 + Mesa 18.2 state as Clear's default configuration.

SuperTuxKart was much faster on Clear Linux with the Intel graphics, especially when routed through the default GNOME Shell Wayland session but even with the X.Org session there still is a measurable performance improvement. SuperTuxKart is one of the playable open-source games with Intel UHD Graphics 630.

The Tesseract OpenGL performance was roughly the same and is another test actually delivering playable frame-rates with current-generation Intel UHD Graphics, unlike most of the Steam Linux games.

Xonotic recorded some more wins for Clear Linux, including larger performance gains seen under the Wayland session.
