John The Ripper with its well-threaded work via OpenMP found the Core i9 7900X to be 58% faster than the Ryzen 7 1800X or still significantly faster than the Xeon E5-1680 v3 and Xeon E5-2687W v3 CPUs.

The i9-7900X also did well with TTSIOD and its multi-threaded CPU-based renderer.

The Himeno pressure solver isn't multi-threaded but does come out in the lead with the i9-7900X, perhaps due to its AVX benefits with Himeno long heavily benefiting from Advanced Vector extensions.

The i9-7900X seems to hit an oddity with its performance in Smallpt.
