Being looked at next were various machine learning benchmarks accelerated using the Vulkan API, which in the case of all these tests was the Intel ANV driver with Mesa 20.3-devel.

RealSR-NCNN is for real-world super resolution image upscaling using Tencent's NCNN framework and leveraging Vulkan for offloading. The Tiger Lake Xe Graphics were completing the 4x image upscaling in about half the time it took on Ice Lake.

The Tiger Lake CPU package was consuming more power than Ice Lake for the RealSR-NCNN tests but was similar to that of Intel Whiskey Lake.

Waifu2x-NCNN is similar to RealSR-NCNN. Again, Tiger Lake Xe Graphics continue to deliver excellent results with Intel's open-source graphics stack.

When looking at the Tencent NCNN neural network inference framework with various models and running atop Vulkan, the speed-up from Gen11 to Gen12 alone is incredible and makes me very eager to see Gen9 graphics finally phased out on the desktop.
