The solid-state drives used for testing included the:

- OCZ Solid 2 64GB
- Crucial CT128MX1 128GB
- SanDisk SDSSDP06 64GB
- Kingston SV300S3 120GB
- Intel SSDSA2M160 160GB
- OCZ Vertex 64GB
- Intel SSDSCKGW08 80GB

Of these drives tested all were 2.5-inch SSDs except for this 530 Series M.2 driver under review today (SSDSCKGW08). All benchmarks were carried out with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and using the Linux 3.17 Git kernel with an EXT4 file-system mounted with its stock mount options. The SSDs were tested on the ASRock 990FX Killer desktop motherboard (with AMD FX-8370 CPU) that boasts an M.2 slot.

All benchmarking was done through the open-source and fully-reproducible Phoronix Test Suite software.
