Fedora 20 Runs Great On The Intel Bay Trail NUC

Interestingly when both Ubuntu 13.10 and Fedora 20 were running on the Linux 3.14 kernel and each using GCC 4.8.2 as the default compiler, Fedora 20 was showing a small lead in some of the CPU-focused tests.

These performance differences may come down to the Intel P-State driver changes between Ubuntu and Fedora's kernel as noted on the first page.

More of these Intel Bay Trail Fedora/Ubuntu Linux benchmarks can be found via 1403047-PL-BAYTRAILN35 on OpenBenchmarking.org. Anyone with Bay Trail NUC (DN2820FYKH) Linux questions can post them in our forums or via @MichaelLarabel on Twitter. Overall, the DN2820FYKH is a terrific NUC with its very small form factor yet now accommodating a 2.5-inch disk drive, great performance with very low power use, and good Linux compatibility with modern distributions. In fact, I've already ordered a second DN2820FYKH for other Linux benchmarking within our open-source automated test environment. Other Bay Trail Linux tests are also forthcoming on Phoronix from a more controlled environment.
