Windows 10 vs. Ubuntu Linux With OpenGL/Vulkan On GTX 1060/1080 Ti & RX 580/Vega 64
The X-Plane 11 flight simulator with lower quality settings was much faster on Linux...
But when running into more demanding scenarios, the NVIDIA performance was faster on Windows while the Radeon performance was faster on Linux. The X-Plane 11 performance will hopefully be faster and more optimal once they switch over to their new Vulkan renderer.
The Java graphics performance with using OpenGL was substantially faster on Linux.
For those interested there are some additional benchmark results via this OpenBenchmarking.org result file, including some OpenCL metrics for NVIDIA on Linux and Windows, etc.
