When it came to the kernel boot times, Clear Linux was more than one second faster than the slowest Linux distribution for its systemd-timed kernel boot speed, openSUSE Tumbleweed.

Of 33 tests ran successfully across the nine Linux distributions, Clear Linux was the fastest 66% of the time while the second fastest was CentOS Stream with first place finishes just 12% of the time.

When taking the geometric mean of all the results, Clear Linux performed significantly better than the rest. Most of the Linux distributions tested averaged out to offering about the same performance on this dual-core / four-thread budget processor, but Fedora Workstation 31 finished in a strong second place finish while Clear Linux was a big step up. Clear Linux was 14% faster than the slowest Linux distributions tested or even 6% higher than the second place Fedora.
