Testing Btrfs On The Linux 3.16 Kernel
While Btrfs has a rework of its quota accounting, stack usage improvements, corruption fixes, clean-ups, and some optimizations, for our common Linux disk benchmarks it doesn't appear to translate to real-world improvements over Linux 3.15 stable.
Overall there doesn't appear to be any widespread performance changes for Btrfs on Linux 3.16 compared to Linux 3.15 when using a SATA SSD in a single-disk configuration. Coming up next for our Linux 3.16 kernel benchmarking will be looking at the common file-systems tested from a traditional hard drive.
