EXT4 Still Leads Over Btrfs File-System On Linux 3.8

The results of EXT4/Btrfs on Linux 3.8 compared to recent the slightly older kernels from this Intel system with a high-end solid-state drive aren't too exciting. There isn't any performance breakthroughs or regressions for either file-system to note for this range of Linux disk benchmarks on the SSD with the default mount options. The only real takeaway to note from this testing is that even with the Linux 3.8 kernel, EXT4 is still generally performing better than Btrfs. Aside from the file-system activity, there are a lot of other exciting features to the Linux 3.8 kernel.
