HDD & SSD File-System Benchmarks On Linux 3.9 Kernel

When running FS-Mark on the system with the four file-systems from the Linux 3.9 kernel, when using the OCZ Solid 2 SSD, the F2FS file-system was the definitive winner. F2FS was much faster than EXT4, Btrfs, and XFS for the solid-state storage. However, as earlier tests on Phoronix have shown, this might come down to syncing differences with F2FS generally being designed for devices that are backed by battery power. When ignoring F2FS, XFS and EXT4 were usually duking it out for the fastest while Btrfs was the slowest on the SSD for all three FS-Mark scenarios. When it came to the Western Digital Enterprise HDD, XFS was generally the fastest for this benchmark.
