Logitech G13 Advanced Gameboard

Logitech's G13 Advanced Gameboard is really designed for right-handed gamers with the G13 to be used by their left hand. Those that use the game-board with their right hand should still be able to use all of the keys just fine, but of course, the mini-joystick is rendered inaccessible. There are 25 keys on the Logitech G15, which are fully customizable, at least under Windows and Mac OS X. The GamePanel LCD at the top is also completely customizable as with the backlight for the keys.

The palm rest on the G13 is made of rubber and is well contoured so that it should fit most hands very well. There are two buttons in adjacent corners of this mini-joystick while in the main area of this Logitech Advanced Gameboard are twenty-two keys, labeled G1 through G22. There are additional buttons located below the LCD display for toggling on-screen functions and the backlight color. There are also four buttons below the GamePanel LCD buttons used for switching between the available profiles.

Logitech stores all of the configuration options for the device on the G13 itself and not the host computer, thereby allowing the gamer to take the G13 with them to a different computer and not need to re-program their configuration. However, this also depends upon the Logitech software/drivers on the computer itself, which will likely make this inoperable from Linux. Logitech's software also supports quick macros and they provide a public SDK for their GamePanel LCD, but again it's Windows-only. On the bottom of the Logitech G13 Advanced Gameboard are six rubber pads to prevent this peripheral from slipping around.
