Mesa 22.1 has seen a lot of incremental improvements including evolutionary performance optimizations. Overall the RADV/RadeonSI performance remains in great shape for this open-source driver stack but no dramatic changes -- aside from continuing to improve the Vulkan ray-tracing support that is still considered experimental for now. In the likes of DiRT Rally 2.0 running on Linux via Steam Play and using VKD3D for Vulkan, the Radeon performance on open-source continues to be very competitive against the NVIDIA RTX GPUs and their proprietary driver stack.

In some cases for the F1 2021 racing game running on Linux via Steam Play, the Radeon RX 6800 XT even surpasses the GeForce RTX 3090... We've seen this in a few areas where RADV performs exceptionally well and on Linux comes out stronger against the NVIDIA competition than under Windows. Unfortunately, I don't have access to either the Radeon RX 6900 XT or the newly released GeForce RTX 3090 Ti for comparison.
