Gallium3D / LLVMpipe With LLVM 2.8

LLVM 2.8 also resulted in higher frame-rates with Urban Terror, but again it won't be a night and day difference since the frame-rates are still to low to be playable on this Intel Core i5 CPU even at 640 x 480 with this ioquake3-powered OpenGL game.

LLVM 2.8 did not make Tremulous any faster with the LLVMpipe driver.

Lastly, LLVM 2.8 was faster than LLVM 2.6 and 2.7 too.

While it does appear that using LLVM 2.8 with the LLVMpipe driver will result in faster performance, this Gallium3D driver is still to slow for most computers on all but those with the very fastest processors. The Intel Core i5 CPU used for testing is still considered a relatively fast processor by today's standards, yet LLVMpipe right now can barely run any open-source game on the quad-core CPU even at 640 x 480. Running anything more demanding like the more recent id Software titles or the Unigine Engine is still very much out of the question for the near future.
