The NZXT Tempest measures in at 211.5 x 512.5 x 562 mm, but if you are using an extended ATX motherboard, it can be awfully cramped (more on that later in the article). At the top of the case are three 5.25" external drive bays with tool-less drive mounts. Below that are two hard drive cages, but if removed can turn into extra 5.25" bays. Each of these HDD cages can accommodate four 3.5" hard drives. A 120mm fan is also located at the front of each cage. For those needing an external 3.5" drive bay, the Tempest does ship with one 5.25" to 3.5" drive bay adapter.

One area about this case that annoyed us a bit was that each fan does have a 3-pin motherboard connector, but they also have attached 4-pin molex connectors. We would prefer that all the fans be of the 3-pin design and without any molex connector. If a molex connector is needed, use a separate adapter. The dual connections with all of these fans make cable management harder and decrease the aesthetics of the system. The motherboard tray does have two holes for enhanced cable management, but this tray isn't removable.
