Open-Source NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2000 "Turing" 3D Driver Performance
To little surprise, the Nouveau OpenGL performance on Turing is awful just as it is with Maxwell and Pascal over the outlined lack of re-clocking support for being able to get off the boot clock frequencies and actually hit the rated nominal frequencies for the graphics cards...
Even the open-source Enemy Territory game yields unplayable frame-rates for the RTX 2060/2080 on this open-source driver.
For any Steam Linux gaming, the Nouveau Turing support is off-limits until the re-clocking situation can be sorted out. And, yes, this is actual hardware acceleration and not just using LLVMpipe or other software renderer.
With the open-source Tesseract OpenGL game, the Turing cards on Nouveau could at least exceed 30 FPS at 1080p...
While normally this game can run at 4K at 100+ FPS, with Nouveau on Turing it was under 20 FPS.
