Phoronix Test Suite 5.2 Release Marks Six Years Of Open-Source Benchmarking

Phoronix Test Suite 5.2-Khanino is now available as the latest quarterly update to the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software for Linux, BSD, Windows, Solaris, and OS X platforms with its hundreds of test profiles via OpenBenchmarking.org.

Chicago, IL -- 5 June, 2014 -- Phoronix Media has announced the immediate availability of Phoronix Test Suite 5.2 (codenamed "Khanino") that comes on the ten year anniversary of the founding of Phoronix and the six year anniversary to the day of releasing Phoronix Test Suite 1.0.

Phoronix Test Suite 5.2 is the latest stable, major update to the Phoronix Test Suite that christens a number of new features, other improvements, and corrections to the GPL-licensed benchmarking software. The main addition to Phoronix Test Suite 5.2 is an experimental / tech preview version of the next-generation version of Phoromatic, the enterprise component designed to centrally manage a large cluster of Phoronix Test Suite systems to conduct organized, time/trigger-based testing, and carry out other test management tasks from a centralized web-based interface. The built-in Phoromatic server and client support will be made feature-complete and further improved for enterprise customers within future Phoronix Test Suite 5.x releases along with the HTML5-based GUI.

Phoronix Test Suite 5.2 also presents new result graphing improvements, hardware and software monitoring and detection improvements within the Phodevi device library, a number of new smaller sub-command features and options, and other minor enhancements.
