Phoronix Media Releases Phoronix Test Suite 3.2

3.2-Grimstad is released as the summer 2011 update to the Phoronix Test Suite.

Chicago, IL -- 15 June 2011 -- Phoronix Media has announced the immediate release of Phoronix Test Suite 3.2 (codenamed "Grimstad") as the planned quarterly update to their open-source Phoronix Test Suite software. The Phoronix Test Suite provides a framework for conducting qualitative and quantitative tests in a manner that is reproducible, easy-to-use, and fully automated.

The Phoronix Test Suite 3.2 update expands support for newly released computer hardware and software, introduces support for the HipHop PHP compiler, offers improved compatibility with the Wine software, and polishes the support for Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, and BSD operating systems.

"The 3.2-Grimstad release is another continued step by Phoronix Media to better enrich the Linux hardware ecosystem for vendors and end-users," said Michael Larabel, the lead developer of the Phoronix Test Suite. "With our software offerings centered around the Phoronix Test Suite, Phoromatic, and OpenBenchmarking.org we make it easy for any open-source project or commercial entity to leverage automated testing and continuous integration as part of their development process. With the Phoronix Test Suite 3.2, the barrier for entry is lowered once more."

"Going forward, there's an overhauled version of Phoromatic that's due out in the near future along with several key improvements to OpenBenchmarking.org to increase its usability and usefulness. There will also be the introduction of the OpenBenchmarking.org Live operating system," Michael Larabel added.

Phoronix Test Suite 3.2 is licensed under the GNU GPLv3 and is available for free download at Phoronix-Test-Suite.com. Paid support for the Phoronix Test Suite and enterprise offerings are also available via the Phoronix Test Suite commercial services.
